Pala Interative extends U.S. reach via Unibet Sportsbook launch in Virginia
Pala Interactive LLC, the online gaming company founded by the Pala Band of Mission Indians, has followed the successful launch of Kindred Group brand, Unibet, in Pennsylvania and Indiana via the Unibet Sports Book launch in Virginia this week.
Founded in 2013, the online real money and social gaming B2B platform has integrated the Kambi Sports platform into its proprietary platform while continuing to honor its multi-year license agreement with iGaming operator and long-time partner Kindred Group plc (KIND-SDB.ST) to provide it with an exceptional online gaming platform.
In a recent press release, Chief Executive Officer for Pala Interactive, Jim Ryan said they are “delighted” to continue providing Kindred Group with their online gaming platform in the United States marketplace and ” look forward to delivering for them in further States.”
The CEO added that the Virginia launch “represents the sixth U.S. state in which Pala’s online gaming platform is serving the needs of a number of the market’s best operators.”
In addition to Kindred and Unibet, Pala Interactive provides online gaming services for their real money gaming partners, such as World Poker Tour (WPT), Gamesys Group, Wind Creek Bethlehem, SBTech and others, across the globe, while its social gaming platform also has a diverse group of partners like mass media company TV Azteca and Muckleshoot Casino out of Auburn, Washington.
Also commenting on the latest development, Kindred Group Senior Vice President Manuel Stan said…
“We are thrilled to launch Unibet in Virginia and to continue to provide a safe, secure and fantastic entertainment service in our fourth US state. Pala Interactive has proven once again to be a reliable partner delivering our launch on time.”
Virginia approval:
The Virginia move by Kindred Group began on April 22, 2021, when its U.S. arm, Unibet Interactive, was awarded a direct market access mobile sports betting permit in the Old Dominion state. The move follows prior successful launches in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, with the southeastern U.S. state, a key market in the Interactive unit’s East Coast expansion. Unibet also has signed agreements for eight additional states.
One of the largest states in the U.S. markets, mobile sports betting there is reportedly expected to reach in excess of $370 million in annual revenues at maturity, according to Kindred.
Continued success:
The Guernsey-based company has enjoyed a strong start to the year, with gross winnings revenue increasing by 41 percent to GBP 352.6 (249.7) million while its profit after tax amounted to GBP 72.6 (1.0) million, according to the company’s unaudited interim report for the period January – March 2021. The firm reportedly wrapped up 2020 with “a new all-time high in active customers” and the year’s positive momentum carrying over into Q1 of 2021 with “a new active customer record of over 1.8 million.”
Pala Tribe:
In addition to the online social and real money gaming software development company that was founded in 2013 in anticipation of the fast-growing real money and gaming opportunity in the U.S., the Pala Band of Mission Indians is also responsible for the Pala Casino Resort Spa, which includes its new $6.1 million 10-acre RV Resort on Highway 76 adjacent to its hotel-casino, located in Northern SanDiego County, as well as online poker and online gaming for New Jersey, and other enterprises in California.
